April Sticker Challenge

In the last week or so, my students have been OFF.THE.WALLS! I’m not really sure what is going on, but I needed reinforcements, and FAST! My favorite strategy for these random WILD times throughout the year is a sticker challenge! Specifically, an April Sticker Challenge!

What is a sticker challenge?

A sticker challenge is used whenever I notice my students have gotten a bit off-track in our behavior expectations, and need some added reinforcement.

How does a sticker challenge work?

Step 1: Give each student a “recording sheet” (I like to use a different theme for each month to keep it fresh and exciting).

The April Sticker Challenge boards offers two different themes: a butterfly and an egg.

Step 2: Pass out stickers

Yep. It’s really that easy.

Maybe your students aren’t phased by the patterns of the moon. Lucky you. I’ve got a few other ways you can use a sticker challenge.

5 Ways to Use a Sticker Challenge:

  • Reinforce Positive Behavior – raising hands, working quietly, being kind, following directions, etc…
  • Homework
  • Reading – book completion and/or a certain percentage correct on an AR test
  • Fact Fluency Drills – a certain percentage correct and/or completion
  • Student-Specific Goals – behavior and/or academic

I printed mine 2/page and copied them onto colored paper. Nothing fancy, just a pop of color.

What happens once a student completes the sticker challenge?

Have your class decide on a reward ahead of time. For my students, it was a “free” trip to the treasure box (which normally costs them 25 Copeland Cash during our Friday Class Store).
