Education Philosophy

Theresa is passionate about building lasting relationships with her students, and positive classroom environments.

She also believes:

  • students learn best when they collaborate, create, apply critical thinking skills.
  • students need time to build relationships and connections with their peers, teachers, and the world around them.
  • no two students are the same, nor do they learn in the same way.
  • building relationships with students and their families help students learn and grow as well-rounded humans, and become life-long learners.
  • collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking help develop problem-solving strategies and teach students 21st century skills.
  • an engaging, supportive, and positive environment allows students to develop creativity and confidence.

When Theresa isn’t teaching, you’ll find her:

  • traveling with her husband, Andrew.
  • Reading (and buying) all the books.
  • binge-watching reality tv.
  • drinking coffee like a Gilmore.
  • quoting episodes of FRIENDS.
  • trying to hide the Amazon boxes before Andrew gets home.

She currently lives in central Florida with her husband and four rescue dogs.
